The following are color studies after Velazquez. Reds show a bit too red but there is only one layer of paint so far so might later go and adjust by adding more layers. Wood almost requires it, in my opinion.

I'm thinking of painting a big copy of the original 'Los Borrachos' and it includes these faces. I recently saw the original painting in Prado, Madrid, and purchased a big book of Velazquez paintings.

Ah, you have been busy! What a great master you have chosen to study from - your paintings are lovely, I particularly love the father-in-law one.
I noticed the side profiles are so much easier to paint!
