More beach paintings ... I painted this little oil painting at the beach this summer. It was too hot to work in the studio. Originally my thought to paint this plein air was to go back to the same location with a bigger canvas and use this tiny painting as a reference. I tried to return to the location several weeks later but the pretty reed colors had been burnt by the sun, water had escaped further away showing less reflections and much more rocks and sand. For that reason I decided not to start a bigger painting of this scene this summer.
